We’re excited to share that our customer, Siemens Motion Control, has been featured in the latest edition of the PCEA (US Printed Circuit Engineering Association) magazine for a pioneering achievement in PCBA manufacturing.

As part of a Proof-of-Concept project, Siemens’ Erlangen plant successfully broke the 5-Sigma Wall in PCBA production by leveraging Causal AI from Xplain Data.

In this initiative, Siemens implemented a holistic, object-centric analysis approach across 500 million daily data points from its highly complex PCB assembly process. This marked a shift from traditional predictive models to Causal AI, enabling the team to identify the true root causes of quality issues.

Using Xplain Data’s patented ObjectAnalytics technology, Siemens drastically reduced error rates and achieved a new benchmark in process transparency, efficiency, and product quality. The result: improved yields, reduced costs, and faster processes — with the investment paying off within a year.

Congratulations to Erik Schwulera and the Siemens team for this impressive milestone in digital transformation!
